Both Yelp and OpenTable have released their romantic restaurant favorites for the year and each food site has several suggestions on where to dine when you're planning a special night out.

So whether you want soft lighting and shared dishes or cozy seating and historic charm, these Massachusetts and Rhode Island restaurants should be on your list.

Yelp’s Top Romantic Picks for Massachusetts & Rhode Island

Yelp relied on the reviews of their Yelp Elite Squad to determine their Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in the US and not every state landed in their findings.

Unlike some recent lists that included a favorite for each state, Yelp's romantic rankings were fair game for everyone. This left very few New England restaurants in the findings and only one for both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Spanish Tapas in Somerville

Landing #88 was Dali Restaurant and Tapas Bar in Somerville. Dali was noted as being a "lively Spanish tapas spot", so it might not be where you want to head for a quiet, romantic meal. Still their shareable plates seem perfect for getting "handsy" and reviewers loved their décor and vibe.

Just behind the only Massachusetts showing on Yelp's list, was Rhode Island contribution to romance.

Locally Sourced Specialties at Gracie's

Gracie's in Providence came in at #91 according to reviewers for its soft lighting, warm service and thoughtful wine pairings. The local ingredients make the menu special as well, though the price tag makes Gracie's more of a special splurge rather than a regular night out.

Over at OpenTable things aren't explained as plainly, though more New England restaurants did land on their list. Posting what they call "2026's Top 100 Romantic Restaurants", the reservation site simply lists 100 spots in no particular order, with no reviewers supporting their findings.

Rhode Island’s Most Romantic Restaurants According to OpenTable

OpenTable notes The White Horse Tavern in Newport and Boat House Waterfront Dining in Tiverton as their most romantic restaurants in Rhode Island for the second year in a row.

They also say Sorellina Boston and Pellana Steakhouse in Peabody as the most romantic places in Massachusetts.
