From Street Team to Morning Show Producer: The Gazelle Story
It's been a long ride, but I'm nowhere close to being done here.
Basically, in the words of Drake, I "started from the bottom now I'm here" on the most powerful, popular and successful morning show in the SouthCoast—and beyond.
The year was 2010, when I first walked through the doors of the radio station to which I had grown up as a loyal listener. From JR and Sharon to Michael Rock and Christine Fox, I learned from the best of the best over the years.
To think of how far I've come since day one on the Fun 107 Street Team, I couldn't have done it without that initial start.
My core knowledge stems from the Street Team, creating a powerful network of local businesses and clients, all while upholding and representing the image of the station.
Oh yeah, and did I mention the food? I've indulged in a lot of food:
If it wasn't for being a member of the Street Team, I wouldn't be writing this article, nor would you be reading it.
In any line of business, we all must start somewhere, and I am grateful for my beginnings here at Fun 107. Coming directly out of college with a Bachelors Degree in Science with a triple degree within Music, Business and Industry, I had hoped I was destined for greatness. I don't know how many remote broadcasts I have done in my time here at Fun 107, but I can say that every place that I have represented on the Street Team has impacted where I am today.
On June 16, 2015, my life as I knew it would change for the best:
Just about every weekday for the past four years, I have woken up before the rooster's crow, ready to wake up the rest of the SouthCoast. To some, it's too early and not an ideal occupation, but to me it's much more than that; it's my life and it's an accomplishment of which I can be proud. Again, all this because of my start on the Street Team.
From local restaurants to car dealerships, wedding shows and Monster Mashes, concerts and live events, I've worked and broadcasted every aspect of the radio industry. I've traveled around Massachusetts and Rhode Island and helped develop a mobile broadcast setup that allows Fun 107 to broadcast a complete LIVE show from just about anywhere with internet access, therefore completely changing the game.
It goes without saying that if it wasn't for my start here on the Street Team, I wouldn't have made the connection that I have over the past few years with our local community. I wouldn't have had the voice to make an impact on at least one person's day, and most importantly, I wouldn't be able to work beside some of the greatest talent in the industry.
Constantly learning, continuing to grow, and always becoming inspired on the daily from listeners and followers like yourself. All this, once more, because of my start here on Fun 107's Street Team.
A great mentor by the name of Michael Rock once told me, "If you love your job, you will never work a day in your life." Almost 10 years here at the station, putting in countless hours in the studio, and he couldn't have been more right. I'm the producer for the greatest morning show on the face of this earth, and even received the opportunity to crack the mic on Saturday mornings. It's safe to say there are no ceilings from here on out.
Fun 107 has shaped my character to who I've become today and for that I am grateful.
