Four Southcoast Change Recess Policies

Four New Bedford elementary schools — DeValles, Congdon, Hathaway, and Jacobs will now work with Playworks, an organization that provides training for teachers and students.

The program is seen to have countless benefits and teach the kids kind and safe play habits. For example, the program asks older students to become leaders so, if someone is sitting out by themselves, invite them to play, if someone gets hurt, call a teacher over for assistance.

Although students may just want to play, most parents and teachers are happy with the advancements the schools are taking to teach good values, and keep their kids safe.
