We all have probably put on what people are calling the "quarantine 15" and now everyone seems to be doing this fasting diet to lose it.

I'll happily raise my hand and say that I gained a few pounds during the last few months. I want to say it was emotional eating but really it was just an excuse to eat all the things.

I have been catching up with friends from different friend groups and I have heard at least a half dozen of them doing this fasting diet, where you cycle voluntary eating and non-eating for periods of time.

Basically, you fast for a set amount of hours then you eat for a set amount of hours straight. Some people eat a ton of crap because apparently there are no restrictions on what you can eat and how much.

A few of my friends are swearing by it and losing a ton of weight fairly quickly.

My only question is, is this safe? I don't think I could fast most of the day and actually function. Do you? Some religions do fasting but not for weight loss purposes. It's called "Intermittent fasting."

Obviously it can't be good for someone with diabetes. Are we just getting desperate to lose weight?

I can tell you one thing, this diet is not for me. Going longs periods of time without eating would mean "hangry" Jackson and you definitely don't want to be around me when I'm hangry.

Are you, or is anyone you know, on this diet?
