Dear Gym,

I thought I could live without you, but these past few months were really tough. Some days were better than others, but most of the time I found myself thinking of you. As difficult as you are sometimes, I truly enjoy the challenges you present, because I know that you are helping me become my best, healthiest self.

When I found out you were opening your doors again because you are located in Rhode Island and are part of the current phase of opening there, I was thrilled, but also a little nervous. We haven’t seen each other in so long and I was afraid you would be disappointed that my muscles were no longer visible.

But truth be told, you have changed, too. New rules and regulations have changed the dynamic of you. If anything, you’re getting cleaned and sanitized a lot more, so change can be good! We will change together. Reuniting with you this past Monday was magical. It’s a long-lost love that I just can’t live without.

Without you, Gym, I was lacking energy and motivation. Now that you’re back in my life, I feel invigorated, healthy, and strong. Having you in my life is one of the best relationships I could ever ask for. It’s not easy, and you may have made me cry a time or two, but at the end of the day, you are only trying to help my life get better.

So here’s to you, Gym. Congratulations on opening your doors again and I welcome you back into my life with open arms. Don’t ever leave me again.

Sincerely,

A Grateful Gym Geek
