Today, Friday, June 5, 2015, is National Doughnut Day at Dunkin Donuts.

Stop by Dunkin Donuts to get a free doughnut with the purchase of any beverage.

This event occurs each year, so everyone should hurry into Dunkin to celebrate. According to the Dunkin Donuts website, the Chicago Salvation Army started National Donut Day in 1938 to honor the women who served donuts to the soldiers during World War I.

The Huffington Post states that those who go to Dunkin Donuts today will be able to choose from over 70 options for their free doughnut of their liking, instead of being able to choose from a small amount of options. The most popular doughnuts are Boston kreme, glazed, and chocolate glazed.

However, croissant doughnuts, cheesecake squares, and fancies are excluded.
