Dunkin’ Sparks Nostalgia After Posting Photo of Its Iconic Styrofoam Coffee Cups
Alright SouthCoast, get ready for some serious nostalgia.
Dunkin's recent post has many of us thinking of the good ol' days as the coffee giant shared a photo that takes us back to a pre-pandemic time.
On Tuesday, February 3, the Dunkin' Instagram account shared a cherished memory: a photo of an iced coffee wedged perfectly inside a Styrofoam cup.

When Did Dunkin' Get Rid Of Styrofoam Cups?
In a 2020 post on Dunkin's website, the Massachusetts-based coffee chain bid farewell to foam, stating:
"In Dunkin’ U.S. restaurants, the foam cups have been replaced by double-walled paper cups. Dunkin’ is also on track to fully transition to new, recyclable hot coffee cup lids in all of its U.S. restaurants by the end of the summer."
From then on, we could no longer use the makeshift koozie to keep our hands warm and our counters clear of the condensation dripping off the cup – or as I like to call it, "drink sweat."

Remembering Dunkin's Styrofoam Cups
Every time I think about the classic double cup, I can't help but think of two things. The first being when Dunkin' decided to charge you 25 cents for that extra cup. We paid, obviously. You needed it. Walking around college campuses with your medium iced, extra extra. Sound familiar?
The second memory that the IG photo sparked was of a trip down to Florida. More specifically, the Orlando area.

My sisters and I went to a Dunkin' drive thru (as most young 20-somethings do) and asked for the extra cup. That's when we were met with a strange look as the cashier asked why we needed one.
Apparently our Northeast coffee trend hadn't trickled down to the Sunshine State ,and with no more Styrofoam cups, it never will.
So thank you, Dunkin', for the stroll down memory lane.
