Dogs Displaced By Hurricane Helene Heading to Rhode Island
Hurricane Helene has left a 500-mile path of destruction from Florida on up through South Carolina. Houses were destroyed, lives were lost and even the animals now need your help.
Middletown, Rhode Island's Potter League for Animals is set to take in 14 shelter dogs from South Carolina, after Hurricane Helene left their current home without power for the foreseeable future.
Now the animal shelter and the dogs need your help.
Of course these adorable animals will be looking for new homes once they arrive in Rhode Island on Thursday, October 3rd.
But even before that, the Potter League says they are in "desperate need" of dog beds, dog toys and puppy & adult food.

In a recent Facebook post, the shelter says they can't get the supplies they need through their usual source, Amazon, in time for the arrival of the 14 dogs. So they are pleading with the public to donate all the supplies they can get their hands on today.
They are also hoping to send some of these beds, toys and food back with the South Carolina shelter staff to support animals that are still recovering at their site or in homes without power down south.
The more supplies they can get before Thursday, the more that can be brought to animals in need in South Carolina immediately.
As for the dogs that will be coming to the Ocean State, they will of course require medical care, vaccinations and behavioral monitoring before they become available for adoption.

The Potter League will share updates on each dog's status as evaluations can be done on their social media sites.
As for now, any help you can send the Potter League's way would be much appreciated. Donations can be brought to their 87 Oliphant Lane address in Middletown by Thursday morning.
