Canada Dry Hot Ginger Ale will go on sale first in Japan.   The Coca Cola company says the drink, flavored with ginger, cinnamon and apple features a can that retains the drink's carbonation when heated.

The drink goes on sale in vending machines next month in Japan.  There's no indication of whether the new beverage will make it's way to the U.S.

Hot Can Inc. of San Diego is one of the companies behind the can-heating technology.  The heat activation happens in the double-chambered aluminum can, where the outer shell is heated without interfering with the carbonation.

Coca Cola is hoping this new drink will catch on and help slumping sales.   The company has seen a drop in sales over the past year.
