Budgy Smugglers Could Be Involved In Exotic Bird Egg Heist
Would you hide 16 rare exotic bird eggs in your pants before you board a plane?
Personally, I would be too preoccupied buying a few wholesome snacks before I'd worry about carefully concealing 16 small bird eggs in the crotch of my pants. Yes, you read that sentence correctly.
A 39-year-old Czech man disembarked a plane arriving from Dubai and was chosen for a random search by an Australian Customs and Border Protection Service agent. The search revealed he was carrying 16 live bird eggs without a permit.
So many questions are running through my mind right now. How did the eggs stay in his pants without falling out? What protection was used so they wouldn't be crushed? Didn't anyone notice a well endowed man standing in line for customs?
Although most of my questions are not answered, the New York Daily News reports that "online commenters have suggested he was importing budgies, given that Australians call tight, tiny swimming trunks "budgie smugglers." What strong material you have smuggler!
However, nothing can shield him from the consequences of "10 years imprisonment and/or a fine of $170,000" according to the Sydney Daily Telegraph.
