Strange Sign at Destroyed Westport Beach Makes Request Unlikely to Be Answered
Danielle Waskiewicz of Westport noticed something recently that snapped her right out of her calming walk along East Beach.
A storm in December 2023 hit Westport's shoreline with brute force, tearing up tar along East Beach Road. However, recent efforts cleared the road of debris. Nearby Gooseberry Island, too, is welcoming visitors once more after its causeway was shut down for cleanup and repairs.
While out on a walk, Waskiewicz stumbled upon a strange sign — a handwritten note posted to an electrical box, bearing a simple yet cryptic message:
"Bring Back My Pallets!"
There was no name on the sign, no call-back number, just a vague sentence with clear disgruntlement behind it.

Back in January, not long after the storm, I saw pallets scattered near a colorful shack. Perhaps these was the same pallets this mystery person was hoping to recover. It makes me wonder if the town cleaned up after the storm or if a passerby took the wood for themselves.
Regardless, wherever these pallets are, they are long gone.
To be solved, this mystery needs to provide a few more clues.
