It's New England's largest tulip farm and right now it's bursting to life with a rainbow of color waiting for visitors.

Wicked Tulips Flower Farm has a brand new Rhode Island location for 2026, and I've been lucky enough to watch it come to life in real time. I drive by the massive 90-acre property every morning on the school run, and each day brings more blooms than the last.

Soon you'll be able to see it for yourself.

The beloved tulip farm has announced that opening day is right around the corner, and early tickets are already on sale.

Why This Year’s Tulip Season Is Starting Early

Tulip season runs from late April through early May, but thanks to this week's stretch of warm, sunny weather, things are moving a little faster than usual. That's great news if you've been itching to tiptoe through the tulips.

When Does Wicked Tulips Open in Rhode Island?

Right now, the plan is for the North Kingstown farm to open on April 20, with the Preston, CT location following on April 21—but since Mother Nature is in charge, it's always a good idea to check the farm's website before heading out.

I'm already adding this to my spring to-do list. In fact, I recently found out my mother-in-law—an avid gardener—has somehow never been to Wicked Tulips, which honestly shocked me. My daughters and I are making it our mission to bring her this year.

There's just something magical about wandering through row after row of colorful blooms, and this farm offers acres of them to explore.

Special Events and Weekend Highlights

Both locations will also feature food trucks throughout the short but beautiful season, especially on weekends, plus a special ribbon-cutting celebration at the new North Kingstown fields on April 29.

If you're looking for an easy, feel-good spring adventure, this one definitely belongs on your list—and thankfully you won't have to wait much longer to go.

Tips Before You Visit the Tulip Farm

With over 115 varieties of tulips and 1.5 million blooms this year, you might want to get a serious about your Wicked Tulips photos. Professional photographers are always welcome at both farms, with an entire page dedicated to photography standards on the farm's website.

Leave your pets at home. Although a walk is nice for four-legged friends, the fields are only open to ADA service animals.

If you want a quieter tulip experience, aim for a weekday visit. Weekends tend to sell out fast and draw larger crowds.

Don't stress the parking. Both Wicked Tulips Flower Farm locations have ample free parking, with staff on hand to help guide you to the perfect spot.
