If you've been driving by on Route 6 in Dartmouth for weeks now and wondering what the heck is going on at Not Your Average Joe's, you're not alone.

At first, I thought maybe they were expanding the size of the restaurant. Well, that was wishful thinking. The size of the original Not Your Average Joe's restaurant is not very big. The other Massachusetts locations are much more spacious, but there is something special about this Dartmouth hot spot. If you frequent Joe's or are a regular there, it's the place where everyone knows your name. Kind of like Cheers.

So I pulled in yesterday looking for answers as to what is happening with all of this construction. My first question to one of the guys working outside was, "Are they expanding the size of Joe's?" His answer was, nope. They are working on beautifying the outside of the restaurant. They've stripped everything down to practically nothing and started from scratch.  They are about halfway done, he said. He was nice enough to show me some photos of what it is going to look like when it is finished.

New windows will be added, cedar wood trim, painting inside and out and lots of other details we will surely notice one it's completed. The restaurant remains open during this outside update and remodel. Now that NYAJ's has the additional parking lot after the demolition of Baker Books, there is plenty of room for customers to park, which in turn allows plenty of space for construction and materials to take care of the facelift.

The new updated and modern look for Not Your Average Joe's will have much more curb appeal for sure.
