Westport Car Crash Leaves Dartmouth Teen Dead

A car crash on Reed Road in Westport took the life of and 18-year-old boy from Dartmouth last night.

The teens name has not yet been released because his entire family has not been notified as of yet. He was a former Westport resident but had recently been living in Dartmouth.

The 18-year-old was driving a gray Mercedes when it went off the road and hit a tree close to 275 Reed Rd., a mile or so south of Route 6.

Reed Road was closed for about 3 hours during the initial investigation and police are asking anyone with info to please contact them at 508-636-1122.

Police say excessive speed could have been a factor in the crash.
