Two Hospitalized in Separate Incidents at Lakeville School
LAKEVILLE — A crash outside a school in Lakeville and then a medical emergency in the school's gym afterwards saw two people taken to the hospital last night — one with traumatic injuries, according to the town's fire department.
Lakeville Fire Department said that fire crews responded to Apponequet Regional High School at around 6:15 p.m. Monday for a collision between a motorcycle and a car in the front parking area.
Two cars, two fire engines, and an ambulance responded to the scene, the department noted.
The man who was riding the motorcycle sustained injuries described by the department as "traumatic," and was taken in an ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital.
While on the scene, emergency responders were alerted to a separate medical emergency in the school gymnasium, according to the department.
Another man described by Lakeville Fire Chief Michael O'Brien as a volleyball referee was taken away in a second ambulance to Morton Hospital.
A school official confirmed that the volleyball game did continue following the disruption.
