Thank You Southcoast For A Huge ‘Cans Across The Park’

The weather for Saturday's Cans Across The Park could not have been more perfect.  This annual event is to help the Red Cross fill the shelves of the area food pantries in time for the holidays and upcoming winter months.

With temperatures approaching 60 degrees, we saw a great turn out of volunteers as well as huge support from listeners all over the Southcoast.   By 11 a.m., we had already crossed New Bedford's Buttonwood Park with food items.  Then, as the donations kept pouring in, we crossed the park again in the other direction.

Something new this year, as we also collected pet food.   Manny Maciel and his team from Animal Control were on hand.
