It'll be a Saturday full of speed and strength in Rhode Island with the RIIL Indoor Track & Field State Championship scheduled for February 15th.

High school athletes from around the Ocean State will competing in their respective races, but it will likely be all eyes on girls sprints thanks to one phenomenal West Warwick junior.

Lisa Raye may still have another year of high school to go, but she also happens to have a national record in the 60M.

If this past summer's Olympic track and field events taught us anything, it's that people love sprint races. Fast paced, over in mere seconds and ending in photo finishes, it's some of the most exciting events on the track.

And officially the fastest high schooler in the country right now, it West Warwick's Lisa Raye.

Raye sprinted her way to a new high school national record of 7.13 seconds and was even invited to race in the Elite 60M dash against professional athletes because of that time.

It's also possible she could see herself sprinting against the best in the world three years from now at the 2028 Summer Olympic games in Los Angeles.

Raye has already committed to the University of Georgia's track and field team. A team that has sent many athletes (and former athletes) to Olympic Games in the past.

For now, Raye has a national record under her belt, a state championship on the way and an entire outdoor track season to continue to blow us all away with her speed.
