Dublin Rose Irish Sports Pub, a fixture in Seekonk, is closing after 11 years of serving food, drinks and entertainment.

The pub's last day will be September 1, 2024.

The closure will make way for a new Whole Foods supermarket.

To celebrate its run, Dublin Rose will host a farewell party on Friday, August 23. The special event will feature live music by Jay Rabbitt at 5 p.m. and MLC Band at 9. The night promises to be filled with fond memories as the pub thanks patrons and dedicated staff.

Dublin Rose, just off I-195, is known for its welcoming atmosphere, delicious food and lively entertainment. In a heartfelt message posted on Instagram, the pub expressed its appreciation:

"We have cherished the opportunity to host countless gatherings, celebrations, and unforgettable moments with our patrons over the years," the pub wrote. "It has been a privilege to be part of the Seekonk community."

News of the closing has sparked an outpouring of emotions from loyal patrons.

One user commented, "Wow. This is really sad to hear. I'm so sorry this happened and you had to make the difficult decision to close. Wish you nothing but the best in any future endeavors!"

Many customers hope the pub will relocate and continue business elsewhere.

Until September 1, Dublin Rose Irish Sports Pub will continue to operate under regular business hours, encouraging customers to come and enjoy signature dishes and drinks one last time.
