Casting Calls Hint at Mysterious Horror Movie in Rhode Island
Rhode Island might be getting a little scary this spring—in a good way.
A "secret" horror movie is reportedly preparing to film in the Ocean State this April, and while details are scarce, casting calls and online chatter suggest this is not just some simple indie project.
Currently there is no cast, no title and no official announcement about the film project, but here are the clues we have managed to piece together.
Casting Calls and Clues Point to Secret Horror Film in Rhode Island
It all started with a series of casting calls put out by Boston Casting, Inc. Starting in early March, Boston Casting began searching for young adults who have acne and braces, comedic and improv actors, and male tuba players.
Although those might not seem connected at all, each casting call was seeking actors aged 18-23, each offering $1,246 per day for speaking roles, and each was said to be filming in April.

Though the recent casting opportunities were the ones that really linked things together, an earlier call for football players from the company should have been an early tipoff.
Connection to Verdi Productions and Live Nation Studios
That post from March 3 was the first to seek actors of the same age range for a Rhode Island project filming in April and May. Shortly after it appeared, the Providence Journal confirmed with Verdi Productions in East Greenwich that it was a project of theirs, telling the newspaper they were teaming with Live Nation Studios on a horror movie.
This news makes perfect sense, considering Verdi Productions is known for both producing films in Rhode Island and for keeping project details quiet often until filming is already underway.
Past Projects Filmed in Rhode Island
Past projects like "Sleepwalkers" with Hayden Panettiere weren't officially revealed until filming was complete and most people never even knew "The Roaring Game" filmed in the Ocean State until the project was being released to theaters.

This latest film seems to be following the same model.
Currently the title, cast, and plot remain a complete mystery and no official announcement about a Verdi Productions/Live Nation Studios collaboration has been made.
What Happens Next With the Mystery Movie
The casting descriptions of high school football players and actors with acne or braces definitely make me think this is a teen/young adult horror movie that could look to film at local schools or sports fields.

We'll all have to keep our eyes out for film crews this April, because we probably won't know what's going on otherwise until production has wrapped.
