New Big Screen Thriller Brings Famous Faces To Rhode Island

Film crews and famous faces are starting to become a regular thing in Rhode Island.

Clearly the tax credits offered by the Ocean State are working and bringing more projects to the area for filming. Great news for local film crews and movie fans alike.

In fact one local film company, Verdi Productions, took full advantage of an opportunity to team with Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions and filmed a new psychological thriller practically in their own backyard.

Verdi Productions' main office is in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, which is also where their new movie finished filming recently.

Details on New Movie Filming in Rhode Island

According to Deadline.com, principal photography on "Sleepwalker" recently wrapped in Rhode Island, with Steve Feinberg, Executive Director of the Rhode Island Film & Television Office, sharing photos from the East Greenwich set.

No word on where in East Greenwich this was, but background in these photos suggest some sort of medical building, which is fitting considering the movie's plotline.

Deadline.com says,

Sleepwalker follows a grieving mother who is haunted by the tragic loss of her daughter in a car accident that left her abusive husband in a coma. As she battles a surreal descent into darkness, her sleepwalking episodes intensify. Plagued by haunting visions of her husband inside their home, she grapples with the blurred lines between reality and nightmare.

That "grieving mother" is played by Hayden Panettiere, but she's not the only big name in the film.

Who Stars in 'Sleepwalker' Filming in Rhode Island?

Older Deadline stories tell us that a number of famous faces are also part of this project.

Along with Hayden Panettiere as Sarah, Beverly D'Angelo (Vacation film series, Coal Miner's Daughter), Misha Barton (The O.C.), Justin Chatwin (Shameless) and Lori Tan Chinn (Orange in the New Black) are part of the star-studded cast.

A young Massachusetts actress named Corinne Sweeney will be making her big screen debut in this film too.

IMBD.com lists the movie as in post-production so presumably all Rhode Island filming is done for now.

No movie release date has been announced as of yet.
