Are you someone who sings and plays Fado music? Then Hollywood just might be looking for you.

With so many movies and TV shows filming across Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts lately, it's no surprise another feature film is holding an open casting call in the area.

What might be a surprise, is the fact that this time around they are specifically looking for Portuguese singer and Fado player.

Fado is a musical genre that can be traced back to Lisbon, Portugal in the 1820s and 30s. Often featuring mournful songs about life at sea, many songs might still be fitting for fishermen of the SouthCoast today.

It's these modern Fado singers and guitar players that Boson Casting, Inc. is currently looking for.

In a recent Facebook posting they put out the call for a Portuguese singer/Fado player to be featured in a film that will be shooting on the South Shore between May 26 - July 4.

Sadly the posting doesn't say which feature film this paid opportunity is for, but we can't help but speculate that it might be for a scene in season two of The Perfect Couple.

Presumably that series will film again on the South Shore of Massachusetts, so maybe that's what this job will be for.

For now, those interested in the role can email BostonCastingSubmit1@gmail.com with the subject line singer / fado player // [your name]. Include your name, phone number, email address, where you are located and a photo of yourself in the email and you are in the running for the part.
