Popular Nantucket-Based Netflix Series Scores New Season

If you loved watching The Perfect Couple on Netflix last fall, get ready to return to the glamorous thriller series soon.

The limited series, which filmed in Chatham, Mattapoisett and Nantucket, is returning for a season two - with a twist.

Though the show starring and executive produced by Nicole Kidman is getting a second season, this time around we're following a whole new family's drama.

Clearly when you rack up 20.3 million views in your first four days of streaming, you have a hit on your hands.

This was the case for The Perfect Couple on Netflix when it debuted in early September and quickly became a top-performing title. Now just six months after that debut the streaming service wants a season two.

Just after the new year, it was announced by Deadline.com that Peacock would be creating a limited series out of Hildenbrand’s book, The Five-Star Weekend.

Now comes word that a possible third Cape Cod filming could take place with the second season of The Perfect Couple, this time based on the novel Swan Song.

Swan Song introduces a new, wealthy couple, Bill and Leslee Richardson, whose summer home burns down and personal assistant goes missing, leading to a new murder mystery to unravel.

Oddly The Perfect Couple and Swan Song share none of the same characters, so how this becomes a season two for the original series is a little unclear.

Both novels do take place on Nantucket and Kidman is returning to executive produce the new season, but other than that, how they connect remains to be seen.

We just hope they choose to film season two on the SouthCoast like the first time around.
