Mattapoisett Bowler Rolls Another Perfect 300

Michael Hogan continues to make a name for himself in the world of bowling. The 19- year-old from Mattapoisett has been bowling at an elite level for years, and he has the hardware to prove it.

How Many State Titles Has Michael Won?

Michael has won five consecutive Massachusetts Special Olympics state bowling championships, most recently dominating the tournament in Auburn with a 695 series, averaging 232 across three strings. To put that into perspective, that is back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back state championships. That makes the Patriots dynasty look modest.

Michael Puts in the Work Every Week

Michael was diagnosed with autism at the age 3, but his diagnosis was recently changed to pervasive developmental disorder with a level of ADHD. By any measure, Michael has done some extraordinary things with a bowling ball, but he doesn’t get better by sitting at home talking about it. He’s an active guy, and shows up at the bowling alley between four and six times a week, practicing and competing on league nights.

Has Michael Bowled a Perfect Game?

He achieved his biggest goal nearly two years ago when he bowled a perfect game, a sterling 300 out of 300. The feat was witnessed by his dad, and Michael was thrilled that he finally caught his white whale.

Now, Michael has done it again, earning perfect score during a bowling night with the Nemasket Group.

The Next Goal Is a Perfect Game in League Play

Michael’s goal is to finally score a perfect game during league competition. “I’ve been feeling less anxiety when I play lately, and I think it’s really making a big difference,” he said. “In my Sunday night league, many of the bowlers are neurotypical, I’m right up at the top with my scores, and I’m not getting anxiety.”

That’s probably because you’re crushing the other bowlers, Michael.
