‘Real Housewives of Rhode Island’ Dominates NYC Awards Night with ‘Best Cast’ Win

An award-winning night was had in New York as dozens of reality television stars from across Bravo, Peacock, Hulu, Netflix and more gathered for a night of celebration at the second-annual Virtual Reali-Tea Awards show.

A Big Night in NYC: Rhode Island Takes Center Stage

Page Six Virtual Reali-Tea podcast hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real once again hosted the awards, celebrating casts, quotes and memorable moments throughout the year. Big winners: the Real Housewives of Rhode Island. Their debut season was so successful it earned them two awards on the night.

To me, this is so well deserved. From the jump, the local ladies brought the drama and juicy gossip to our screen. I'm an avid Bravo/Real Housewives fan, plus I'm from Rhode Island, so I couldn't get enough. I already know I'll binge Season 1 again before Season 2 airs.

As for the awards they took home, they were a couple of big ones.

"Slampig" Takes the Crown: Quote of the Year Honors

Quote of the Year went to Rhode Island's Rosie Woods DiMare for adding "slampig" to our vocabulary after insulting her co-star Kelsey Swanson.

The entire Real Housewives of Rhode Island cast also took the stage to accept the coveted Best Cast award. "It's crazy how a couple of months ago most of us couldn't even sit at the same table together, but now,...I think we're most at peace than we've ever been," Swanson said.

It was then that castmate Alicia Carmody took over on the mic to say a few words in her oh-so-recognizable Rhody accent.

Rhody Accents and Big Wins: The Cast Accepts Best Cast

"I f— love a summer. F— love New York. F— love a fall. F— don't like a winter, but I love an award and I love a mic," Carmody said. "Thank you to the people that found me and us."

The cast even expressed their love and appreciation for Brian, the husband of Housewife Ruella Nehme Pontarelli, who was the topic of discussion for a majority of the season.

It's been such a strong start to the franchise, I can't wait to see what Season 2 brings.
