Mattapoisett's Center School got a visit from some of the biggest basketball stars in the Tri-Town right now.  The Old Rochester Regional High School basketball team surprised the students at Mattapoisett's Center School as they filed in for their morning meeting yesterday.

The Bulldogs basketball team was preparing for their biggest game since 2015, when they won the Division 3 State Championship led by freshman, Noah Fernandes (who now plays for UMass Amherst).

The Center School kids marveled at the size of the high school boys who were wearing their away game jerseys.  The Bulldogs lined up and gave each child a high five as they walked into the very same gym that many of them sat in themselves to begin their elementary school days.

The team even broke out a few basketballs and took a few shots for the kids (you never can get too much practice heading into a Final Four game in the state tournament).  Unfortunately, last night's semi-final playoff game that was supposed to be played at Quincy High School was postponed due to the impending Nor'Easter.  Instead, Old Rochester will tip off against St. Mary's of Lynn tonight in Quincy.

Bulldogs Boys Basketball Head Coach Steve Carvalho joined the team at Center School.  Carvalho, who is coaching his 18th season, was also the head coach for ORR's championship run in 2015.

Wareham Boys Basketball also plays in a State Tournament Final Four game tonight.  They will face Millbury tonight at 6:30 at Bridgewater-Raynham High School.

Old Rochester is Division 3, while the Wareham Vikings are Division 4.
