The Southcoast should have some pretty good conditions tonight to see the Northern Lights, or aurora borealis. According to Sky & Telescope's website, there was a "dramatic flare" eruption yesterday, which sets up ideal viewing for very early Thursday morning at 3am. Even though the Northern Lights are most common seen closer to the North Pole, this sighting opportunity has nothing to do with the Polar Vortex.
