Saturday, Sept. 3, is a day for all movie lovers as cinemas across the country celebrate National Cinema Day by drastically reducing ticket prices.

Every movie, every showtime and every format will only be $3.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Nowadays, the average price of a movie ticket is $9.57, and the last time a movie ticket cost $3 was in the '80s.

So, take advantage and get ready to treat yourself to the large popcorn this Saturday, because we’re going to the movies.

What is National Cinema Day?

The Cinema Foundation is a donor-supported charitable non-profit, dedicated to promoting the essential cinema exhibition industry. With National Cinema Day, they aim to say “thank you” to moviegoers across the country for returning to the theatre after a tough few years.

“After this summer’s record-breaking return to cinemas, we wanted to do something to celebrate moviegoing,” said Cinema Foundation president Jackie Brenneman.
