A Raynham school resource officer and a Massachusetts medium have teamed up for the sixth year to help local children have a brighter holiday season.

Candace Dalton may live in California these days, but she returns to her home state to offer her special gift during her “Healing Messages from Above” show on Monday, Dec. 4 in Raynham.

Who is Candace Dalton?

Easton native Candace Dalton works as a medium who is able to connect to deceased loved ones. She said she realized early in life that she had this special ability.

“When I was really young, I always thought I had my own superpower and I thought I was a really good guesser, and then when I was 9, I found out that (being a medium) ran in the family,” Dalton said.

Dalton is the niece of another popular Massachusetts medium, Maureen Hancock

For the past 14 years, Dalton has connected people with loved ones who are no longer with us physically to demonstrate that we go on, and has brought countless people closer to the ones they miss.

As she got older, Dalton said she knew she wanted to give back to the community, so she began to brainstorm ways to use her rare gift for good.

Dalton Teams Up with Lou Pacheco

Dalton’s best friend, Frank Pacheco, hails from Raynham, and when she shared her goal of giving back to the community with him, he introduced her to his brother, Lou, the school resource officer in town.

“Lou knows exactly which families are in need,” Dalton said. “We like to raise as many funds as possible to get them food, clothes, gifts... whatever they need for them to feel empowered.”

SouthCoast Experiences to Consider Gifting This Holiday Season

I propose that this holiday season, we spend a little extra time thinking about what experiences our loved ones would appreciate. Now is the time to consider how they enjoy spending their time and ask yourself how your gift can help them with their interests and hobbies. If the kids in your life already have a room full of toys, consider memories filled with love, fun, and excitement to be the better option this holiday season. Bonus points if it's something that allows you and your loved one to spend time together.
