The City of Taunton’s Lighting of the Green & Lights On Festival is an annual celebration with live entertainment and activities at more than 30 locations downtown.

Holiday lights and Christmas magic take over the Taunton Green, and on Saturday, Dec. 2, the Green is transformed into a glistening center for holiday fun. Decorations will also take over Main Street, Liberty & Union Park, and the Memorial Fountain on Church Green. Stilt Walkers, fire dancers, live music and more will bring the holiday magic to The Christmas City.

The Taunton community will band together for the 110th time for this beloved tradition.

Following the Lights On Festival, all of Taunton gets into the holiday spirit. For the month of December, Santa will be on-site on the Taunton Green on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Victorian carolers will stroll on the Green on Friday and Saturday evenings, and many downtown businesses will have beautifully decorated storefronts as they participate in the annual Holiday Window Decorating Contest.

Nothing beats the spirit of the holiday season, and there is no shortage of Christmas cheer in the city of Taunton.

Taunton’s Lights On Festival takes place Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m., with the official ceremony starting at 4:30 p.m.
