According to ABC 6, we're likely looking at more accumulation than anticipated as original reports had the Southcoast in for just a dusting of snow over the weekend.

ABC 6 Meteorologist Chelsea Priest has updated our forecast to prep for snowfall on Saturday in the 3-6 inch range - meaning this will be the first shovel-able / plowable snow of the 2017 season.

The timing of the storm has snow beginning late Saturday morning. Snow may mix with rain at times for outer coastal locations but the snow will continue through midnight and flurries may linger into Sunday morning. Totals are expected to cap out at 6 inches, at the most.

Chelsea Priest warns that roads will be slick overnight Friday into Saturday as there is a chance of a rain or snow shower moving into the area overnight tonight. So if you are headed out this evening or early tomorrow morning, use a little extra caution.
