Country power couple Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton announced their divorce yesterday after 4 years of marriage.

According to TMZ the couple filed for divorce papers a few years ago and a judge is expected to end their four year marriage this week.

The couple's divorce is amicable with them releasing a joint statement to the Associated Press that said "And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

Shelton and Lambert met in 2005 at the CMT 100 Greatest Duets concert, at the time Shelton was still married to Kaynette Williams. Blake later told VHI though, “Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her right there onstage."

In 2006 Miranda and Blake officially started dating, and in 2010 Blake got down on one knee and asked the country superstar to be his wife. They tied the knot in 2011.

The couple told AP that "This is not the future we envisioned." Blake and Miranda, this is not the future we envisioned for you either. I personally loved them as a couple and am sad to report this news.

Hopefully the two will be happy in their future endeavors, even if it means that they do them separately.
