Middletown, Rhode Island Beach Sticker Shock
Before you know it, we'll be flocking to the beach to soak up some sun, wiggle our toes in the sand and catch some waves.
If you're hoping to enjoy the beaches in Middletown, Rhode Island – specifically Sachuest Beach (aka Second Beach) and Third Beach – you'll be paying a pretty penny.
Starting Monday, April 7, beach stickers will be available for purchase online and many will be up in arms at the high cost.

Let's set the scene for a minute. We live in New England which means our summers are sacred. They don't last forever, weather can be unpredictable at times and your own personal schedule can limit the number of beach days you're able to enjoy.
I've never understood the obnoxious pricing of beach stickers, especially for residents.
This year is no different. Check out this breakdown of what you'll pay depending on what you're looking for:
Season Beach Passes
Middletown Residents: $90
Senior (65+) Resident: $85
Resident with Scooter/Motorcycle: $40
Nonresident: $180
Nonresident Senior: $170
Nonresident Scooter/Motorcycle: $80
Single-Day Beach Passes
If purchasing a full season pass is too much of a commitment, you may want to opt for single-day admission.
Weekdays: $25
Weekends & Holidays: $35
Motorcycle/Scooter: $20
If you simply want to enjoy the surf and sand at no cost whatsoever, ditch the wheels and walk on at no cost. Save your money for a cold Del's Lemonade!
Online purchases for seasonal beach passes begin April 7 with in-person sales available May 17 at Second Beach.
A reminder that beach season officially begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day Weekend.
