I had never heard of National Ding-A-Ling Day until this week, but I am so happy that Gazelle introduced me to the game.  It's incredible funny and awkward all at once.

The basic premise of the game is to call someone you haven't talked to in a very long time.  The longer you've gone without talking...the better.  The ideal situation is to take a casual approach, as if you had just called them an hour ago.

I decided to call Jill Crabtree.  She's the girl I took to my Senior Prom...25 years ago.  I'm exactly sure the last time I talked to her, but it has been a bare minimum of 20 years.  I took a wild guess that she still worked at her family business outside of Boston  (which she did).  I tried calling her at about 8:15.  The woman who answered the phone said that she'd be in around 8:30.  As you'll hear in the call above, I'm pretty sure I annoyed the heck out of her when I called back at 8:32.  As luck would have it, Jill was on time for work.  Watch me make my "Ding-A-Ling" call to Jill on YouTube above.  Pay particular attention to Gazelle feeding me lines to ask her during the all.
