Good News: MBTA Commuter Rail Adds More Tickets for Taylor Swift Concert
After incredibly high demand from “Swifties”, the MBTA commuter rail and Keolis have decided to add additional tickets for the May 20 and May 21 special event train service to Gillette Stadium for the Taylor Swift concerts.
The first round of tickets for the special events train sold out in just hours, and the MBTA expects this second batch of tickets to sell just as quickly.
After being on sale for less than 12 hours, the MBTA Commuter Rail announced on Friday that the concert train tickets from Boston to Foxboro for all three Taylor Swift shows were completely sold out, with no plans of adding a second train.
How to Get Event Train Tickets for Taylor Swift
Round-trip tickets are $20 and will be sold exclusively through the mTicket app. Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 12 at 11 a.m., and tickets will only be released for the May 20 and 21 shows for both Boston and Providence.
No additional tickets will be sold for the May 19 concert, and guests choosing to travel to Gillette for the May 19 show via the Foxboro Station weekday Commuter Rail service will not be able to return to Boston following the conclusion of the show via the special event train without purchasing a corresponding special event train ticket.
Due to high demand, no refunds or exchanges will be available and tickets must be purchased prior to boarding the event train. Everyone on board, even children younger than 11, will need a ticket to board.
“These are special event trains and ticket sales will be stopped once the maximum capacity is reached,” the MBTA said.
