Luxury Cape Cod Resort Named Best Waterfront Stay in America

Perhaps it's a case of being too close to recognize how amazing the Massachusetts waterfront is that when Cape Cod lands on top of a "best in US" list, it's a still a little bit surprising.

Living with beaches so close my entire life, I guess I've become a bit spoiled in regards to the waterfront.

Eating by the water, walking on the beach, spending a day on the sand with a book are all things we get to do almost anytime we want on the SouthCoast, yet some people travel hundreds, if not thousands, of miles to get a piece of our daily lives.

That is why waterfront resorts are such popular stays for most people. And why when ranking waterfront resorts across the country, Massachusetts comes out on top.

USA Today polled readers on their most picture perfect getaways, ranking waterfront resorts around America on properties that make them memorable and relaxing vacation spots.

Obvious places like Hawaii, California and Florida landed spots on the list, but a slightly surprising choice came in as 'the best waterfront hotel in the US.'

Yes, this luxury Cape Cod resort that has been welcoming guests since 1914 was ranked as the best waterfront resort in the entire country.

A little surprising, right?

As USA Today describes it, Chatham Bars Inn is 25 landscaped acres with poolside and beachside cabanas, lounges and cottages with a quarter-mile of private beachfront along the Atlantic Ocean.

Not to mention the classic coastal vibes and the number of celebrity sightings here.
