Local Pharmacies Offer Free Delivery to Homes

A listener called the Phil Paleologos Show this morning to inform the morning mayor of local pharmacies that would deliver to homes during this coronavirus outbreak. At uncertain times like these, it is important for everyone to be getting their medication without fear of coming in contact with others who may carry COVID-19.

CVS:

CVS Pharmacy will waive charges for home delivery of prescription medications, which will help patients avoid visiting their local CVS Pharmacy for refills or new prescriptions. Aetna will offer 90-day maintenance medication prescriptions for insured and Medicare members. CVS Caremark is working with all PBM clients to waive early refill limits on 30-day prescription maintenance medications.

Rite Aid:

Home-delivery service from Rite Aid will be available upon request and the company will waive delivery-service fees for eligible prescriptions. Customers should contact their local Rite Aid pharmacist for details. Controlled substances and/or refrigerated medications are not eligible for delivery. Prescriptions go out for delivery once a day, Monday through Friday. In addition to home delivery, Rite Aid offers drive-throughs for pick-up of prescriptions and over-the-counter products.

Walgreens:

Patients looking for alternative ways to access their prescriptions may use the pharmacy drive-thru, and Walgreens is waiving delivery fees for all eligible prescriptions. Patients should talk to their pharmacists to confirm their prescriptions are eligible for delivery at this time. They can also send a representative to pick up their medications on their behalf if they choose. Customers may also shop online, and until further notice, there will be free delivery on any purchase on Walgreens.com, with no minimum purchase required.
