A Massachusetts man did something intentionally to get thrown into jail this week.

According to the Boston Globe, Police were apparently called to a Westfield convenient store late Tuesday night after the clerk called in a bizarre shop lifting report.

The clerk told police that a man had come to the counter and asked for a pack of cigarettes. After receiving them, the man started to walk towards the door and when the clerk pointed out that he'd have to call the police, if the suspect didn't pay, the man said "go ahead."

Police later found the suspect, John Skowron Kirwan, at a nearby bus stop where, when he was asked if he had attempted to steal the cigarettes he told them he had not attempt but rather successfully stole them. Kirwan, later, explained to police that he was on probation and had in fact wanted to go back to prison.
