KFC Announces The Double Down Sandwich Is Back

Back by popular demand, but just for a limited time, is the Double Down sandwich. KFC announced the sandwich will return to the menu next Monday for about a month.

Coming in at 540 calories, the Double Down features bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, and Colonel sauce sandwiched between two pieces of fried chicken. They are offering a healthier, 460 calorie option featuring Kentucky grilled chicken.

Boston.com reported that in 2010, KFC sold 10 million Double Downs in its first month on the menu. Yum! Brands, which owns KFC, removed the item from US menus later that year but kept the item in its global market.
