It’s National Avocado Day, Which Means Lots of Free Guac
The best part about National Avocado Day is that avocado is the main ingredient for guacamole.
If you are a fan of all things guacamole like I am, today is going to be a good day for you. I seriously add avocado to just about everything. I use avocado on my morning toast or with eggs for breakfast. I also slice and dice it into my lunchtime salad and also LOVE making homemade guacamole for when we have summer get-togethers and serve with warm tortilla chips. And don't tell me you don't love a burrito bowl topped with some fresh guac?!
There are several restaurants celebrating National Avocado Day with deals and also FREE guacamole with meal purchases. Chipolte is offering free Guac with any order via their app. Delish.com has a full list of places participating in National Avocado Day.
To give you an idea of how popular avocado has become here in the U.S., the Department of Agriculture says that since 1995, consumption has grown from 360 million pounds to 2.45 billion pounds in 2018. That's A LOT of guac!
