Impressive Women on the SouthCoast to Admire on International Women’s Day
Let’s go, girls.
It’s time to celebrate International Women’s Day by praising the strong women before us, the talented women beside us, and the motivated women who will follow in our footsteps. If you identify as a woman, today is your day, so let’s raise a toast to the women in our lives.
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
The celebration got its start in 1911 with the first International Women’s Day gathering, supported by over a million people. Over a century later, we continue to tip our hats to the women that smile in the face of adversity and say to themselves, “Bring it on.”
I grew up surrounded by strong women. Chasing after a dream was never laughed at, it was encouraged, and thanks to the women who raised me, I grew up to be a strong-willed, successful person. It’s the women who raised me that made me who I am.
This morning on Michael and Maddie, I felt compelled to give admiration to several women that I have met during my time at Fun 107. In the past two years, I have been fortunate enough to meet women who live a life fulfilled, with impressive careers and inspiring stories that demonstrate the heights they climbed to get to where they are now.
Here are the personal stories of six impressive SouthCoast women who never said never and proved that believing in yourself can get you as far as you allow it to.
