With the news that two Sam's Club stores in the area are closing, many shoppers are wondering what they can do with their memberships. So here's how to cancel.

The Sam's Clubs in Fall River and Seekonk are going to be closing their doors in early February, so what can members do?

According to the terms of service for Sam's Club memberships, a membership that was purchased or renewed in the last 30 days can be returned for a full refund.

You only have that 30 day window to get a full refund however.

If you do cancel after the 30 day window, it is no longer a full refund, but rather a prorated refund based on the time elapsed from purchase.

So if you bought a Sam's Club nine months ago, you can still get some of your money back.

Here's what you'll need to bring with you to cancel before the stores close for good...

  1. your license or photo ID
  2. your Sam's Club card
  3. the original membership agreement with the date you joined

You can cancel in person at any Sam's Club location by bringing the above mentioned paperwork and visiting the member services desk.

You can also cancel over the phone by calling 888-746-7726. You must call between Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
