Fall River Man Arrested in Connection to Swansea Walgreens Robbery
SWANSEA (WBSM)—A Fall River man has been arrested and charged in connection with the robbery of a Walgreens in Swansea earlier this week.
Swansea Police said the robbery happened on Monday, April 22 at approximately 5:42 p.m., when officers responded to the Walgreens Pharmacy on Wilbur Avenue.
The suspect was reportedly unarmed and allegedly stole prescription medication. He was described as a white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a baseball hat, sunglasses, an N95-style mask and tan cargo pants.
He was seen driving a tan or gray Toyota Tundra TRD pickup truck that was carrying a ladder rack and a toolbox.
Using surveillance footage and the public's assistance, police identified a suspect and vehicle. An arrest warrant was then obtained.
A vehicle stop was conducted on April 25 for a Toyota Tundra. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Jordan Medeiros, 42, was arrested without incident.
Police said they found Medeiros was carrying a double-edge switchblade, but it was not used during the robbery.
Medeiros was charged with unarmed robbery, speeding and carrying a dangerous weapon. He is expected to be arraigned in Fall District Court today.
