I spent my vacation rebuilding outdoor stairs on my house. Why? Because after I came home from running a few errands...I found that my wife had ripped them off the house. (See pic to the right)

Instead of hiring a contractor like I should have, I attempted to do it myself. After 30+ round trips to Lowe's and Home Depot, and roughly 4 hours of actual construction time, I finally had working steps. While I have some degree of pride, I know that these steps aren't pretty. They are, however, my first home improvement project construction project completed by myself. The best part? I only yelled at my kids once.

Here is someone who actually knows what they're doing...explaining how to build outside steps.
