
Hommus Recalled Over Possible Health Risk
Yorgo's Foods Inc is recalling all of it's Greek-style foods, including Hommus sold at Trader Joe's.
Several flavors of Hommus made in Manchester, NH by Yorgo's Foods Inc pose a possible Listeria contamination and are being voluntarily recalled by the company.
According to FDA.gov, the affect products are:
Anyone with these affected products are urged to discard them immediately or return them to the store of purchase for credit.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in pregnant women, young children, the elderly or those with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms can present as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infections can also cause miscarriages or stillbirths in pregnant women.
To date no infections from these hommus products have been reported.
