We're starting to get into a pattern here of my son going to sleep, only to wake up crying to get us up, because he wants to play at 2:30 in the morning. I need sleep. Help!

I don't know if it's my fault giving him a nap in the afternoon, because in the past I have put him down for about an hour and a half to two hours, then at night he goes down to sleep and lasts through the night.

Is it because he's getting more excited about his toys? He loves pushing around his huge dump truck and playing with his tricycle too, so maybe if he sees it in his room, it would cause him to break out of his crib and start playing?

If you're a parent who's been through this saying, "been there, done that" I would appreciate any help with your suggestions below, because I appreciate sleep too. Thanks in advance!

What should I do?
