The smashing hit "Driver's License" by Olivia Rodrigo not only smashed the record for the first song to hit one billion worldwide streams for 2021, but has also become a global phenomenon in every sense and fashion.

Admit it, when the song comes on, you know you're at least lip-synching the catchy love ballad of a broken-hearted teen. I'll be the first to admit that I have and still catch myself at times. What can I say, it's a jam and a pretty popular one, too.

Recently, I've been playing a little game at the bars and restaurants I hang out at here on the SouthCoast that is too good to be true. It's called the Driver's License Challenge and I made it up. You can only do this at businesses that have one of those public TouchTunes digital jukeboxes hanging on the wall due to the fact that you'll need to connect to it via the app in order to accomplish the task.

Here's how it works:

Step 1, find a somewhat busy place (that follows CDC guidelines of course) with a pretty primal crowd. A group of people who are either rough around the edges or considers themselves "gangsta."

Step 2, download the app and add credits to your account.

Step 3, add Olivia Rodrigo's "Driver's License" to the queue and get ready for the most awkward, cringy, and downright hilarious response. Since it's coming from your phone app, no one can really tell who the initial person was that played the song, completely disguising them and causing nothing but confusion and false blame.

In the meantime, you'll catch a few lip-syncers and people bopping their heads to the song. It's undeniably inescapable and will soften even the hardest heart in the club. Now that you know my little secret game, try it out for yourself, and try not to get caught on the app or the jig is up.
