Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez to Visit Swansea

Former Red Sox ace Pedro Martinez will be paying a visit to the SouthCoast.

The Major League Baseball Hall of Famer will be appearing at UMass Dartmouth's 19th Annual Center for Marketing Research Celebrity/Scholarship Dinner. The event will take place on May 1st at Venus de Milo in Swansea.

Tickets to the event are $150 per person or $1500 for a table of 10.

Martinez is a great choice for the event's guest of honor. He was known for his eccentric post-game interviews during his time with the Red Sox, particularly during their World Series run. Pedro has had a number of speaking engagements since his retirement from baseball and he tends to have his crowds roaring with laughter from the podium.

In addition to being one of the Red Sox' aces (along with Curt Schilling) on their 2004 World Series Championship team, Pedro Martinez is a three-time Cy Young Award winner and an eight-time member of the All-Star team.
