When a community comes together to help one another, amazing and selfless things come to life.

The Pumpkin Patch Childcare LLC, owned by the dedicated and community-focused Natashia Machado, is making a significant impact on local children this year. With a heartwarming initiative, they will be donating 500 backpacks filled with grade-appropriate supplies to children in need.

Natashia Machado has been leading this backpack drive for seven years, each year growing more extensive and impactful. Reflecting on her efforts, Natashia shares, "This is my seventh year doing a backpack giveaway! Every year it’s just gotten bigger and bigger. Amber Burns hosts the block party event, and I’m so lucky to join in! Giving back to youth has always been extremely important to me! Not every family dynamic is the same, and I truly enjoy helping where I can, anyway I can! Keeping in mind all kids! Even the older high school kids! They need supplies that can be extremely expensive! Anything I can do to help these kids, I will!"

Join the fun at the annual block party at Kennedy Park on August 10th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This event promises to be a fantastic gathering for the community, with plenty of activities and giveaways.

Among the highlights, the owner of Little Wanderers Sensory Play will be present, engaging children with exciting games and an incredible giveaway for her sensory-based playroom. Attendees can look forward to a delightful appearance by Cinderella at 2:30 PM, complete with ball gowns and glass slippers. There will be a special “pumpkin patch” photo opportunity with Cinderella, and even a chance to get some fun tattoos.

In addition to the backpack drive, Natashia Machado and Melissa Carreiro run a nonprofit organization called Closet of Hope. At the event, they will be distributing gift bags filled with toiletries for teens, along with clothing, winter jackets, and more, ensuring that local youth have access to essential items.
