A new event space is coming to Swansea.

According to a building permit filed with the Swansea Building Department, Versailles Boutique Event Venue, a boutique event business, will take up residency at the former Swansea Mall, now called the Shoppes at Swansea.

When Swansea Mall closed in 2019, Anagnost Companies purchased the building at auction for $6.65 million with plans of turning it into a multifaceted facility. Swansea Mall became Swansea Center, and as of last year, the Shoppes at Swansea had seven tenants.

From the sounds of it, there is a lot more in the works for the 81-acre site on Swansea Mall Drive.

The Shoppes at Swansea is a massive development with commercial, industrial, retail, and restaurant spaces. The building was improved with around 600,000 square feet of existing buildings.

Versailles Boutique Event Venue is gearing up to be the newest tenant, described as an intimate and luxurious venue, perfect for hosting any special events, corporate outings, photoshoots, and more.

“Coming Soon,” it proudly says online.

Interior construction has started at the mall for its newest tenant, but there seems to be no timeline for when the venue will be completed.

For now, Walmart, Prime Storage, His Providence Church, Unified Global Packaging Group, and Crunch Fitness make up the Shoppes at Swansea, but there are still plenty of open spaces for new business.
