SWANSEA (WBSM) — An early morning crash in Swansea on Interstate 195 westbound has sent three people to the hospital and ended with one of the vehicles in flames.

Swansea Fire and EMS personnel, along with state and local police, responded to the fiery three-car crash at approximately 5:30 a.m. on July 12.

According to firefighters, arriving units found vehicles had left the roadway on both sides of the westbound travel lanes.

One vehicle was allegedly about 30 feet into woods along the right side of the highway and was fully involved. Passing motorists assisted the driver at the time of the incident.

Another car continued to drive through the median, almost entering oncoming eastbound lanes. 

One person was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and two to Charlton Memorial Hospital.

It’s reported that all injuries appear minor and not life-threatening.

On April 20, 2023, the Wareham Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the area of Agawam Road and was able to hold the fire to just over two acres before fully extinguishing it.
